One word describes today’s “Take a Kid Fishing” trip  -  “WOW”

Elizabeth put together this trip as a Father’s Day gift and it would be difficult to rival this gift for a fisherman!!

Once again we set lines in 120 fow and began a North troll.  We missed our first 4 or 5 fish and it quickly became evident that Chris was the common denominator and cause for our goose egg in the box, so we made him sit on his hands on the cooler!!

We made a turn at 220’ and on the turn the port dipsy just began screaming.  The fight ensued and finally the 25 pound king was lifted over the transom.  We worked our way back into 100 fow and on the turn the WMD with the MOONSHINE blue smoothie fly popped off the starboard rigger and the drag began to run.  Preston fought the fish well and after a tough battle the fish came to the surface and we could see it was big and NOT a King!!

It was an Atlantic Salmon that measured 35 inches and weigh 19 pounds on the DEC scales—a true trophy and the largest Atlantic Salmon I have seen in 35 years of fishing Lake Ontario!!!!

The action did not stop and we went on to catch plenty of fish ending up with 5 big salmon (4 Kings & 1 Atlantic) and our share of nice Cohos and steelheads
