2008  NOW WE ARE FISHING!!!!

May 14

Long time client and friend Paul Lange was passing through town and stopped to visit first mate Carl III so I talked them both in to going fishing with me for a couple hours Wednesday morning.

We headed out of port at the crack of 8 am and pointed the bow north!  We set the first lines in about 50 FOW (feet of water) and took our time rigging as we fished our way into deeper water.  It took us about 45 min to find the fish and then the rods began to pop.  First to fire was a nice steelhead that took a TNT Moonshine on the 30’ rigger, then another on the orange
Half Moon called the “Worm” at 22’, followed by a larger steely that chomped a small NK silver orange behind a jet diver running off the boards.  It was just about 9 am and I knew it was time to put out the purple glow, I broke a brand new Half Moon, “Little Bruiser” out of its package and set the Cannon Digitrol to stop at 36’.  When the rod popped about 39 seconds later, I knew right away that it was a King!  Paul grabbed the rod and handed it to Carl who wrestled the silver bellied brute to the net.  We made a circle missing a couple more fish, including one that as Paul pointed out — the captain lost.

We pulled the plug around 10:30, not bad fishing for starting late and quitting early!!!
