Saturday evening, Wind 1’-3’, Some rain,
Earlier in the week I met a young man who wanted to try to catch some of the fish we have in Lake Ontario. His family was in the area on vacation and he was looking for someone to take him fishing. I had Saturday open so we made plans to fish.
A storm moved through early afternoon and a stiff wind remained. We decided to fish the inside water in search of some big kings. We set up in 80 fow and began a slow troll to the north west. The current was very strong due to the warm water moving back along the shore following the upwelling earlier in the week.
We trolled for a little while and the center rigger popped and Eric grabbed it and began reeling. The fish made several runs before we finally netted it. The fish hit a green echip with a green moonshine fly just off the bottom in 90 fow. The conditions deteriorated over the next hour so we pulled the plug early and returned to the dock.
