August 25
Saturday, calm, some early fog
Headed back out to the same offshore area. The early bite alluded us and it took a while before we found active fish. We found them on a south east troll and with just two passes we had half the limit. The NBK spin dr and moonshine fly was very hot off of the 120 dipsy. We made up a second flasher to look like the NBK and soon we had both dipsys firing!
We found troll direction to be the single most important variable with south east/north west being hot early then a north east troll being very deadly mid morning. After the first hour and until we began to clean fish at noon the action was almost non-stop, the crew landed 15 fish and we missed close to that number.
