What a winter, at one point in early January we thought that the lake would never get below 45 degrees then came winter with a vengeance, by the end of February the creeks had enough ice on them to drive a truck over them.  April met us with over 10 inches of snow in the first week and getting the boat out and doing some fishing was set back about 10 days.

Finally we got on the water and John from Andy’s Taxidermy down by Williamsport, Pa made it up to get some Brown Trout.

We began our day in the shallows just west of Point Breeze, it was not long before we yelled fish on and slipped the net under a nice 6 pound brownie.  That first hour was insane, 2 doubles and some singles and by 7am we had 6 fish on, boated four of them.  Things slowed down after that and we picked at fish the rest of the day.  Mid morning John tied into a good fish that ate a mixed vegetable yeck off the rigger.  That fish was our best of the day 30” long and 11 pounds.

Here are the facts

8-12 fow, 41-43 degrees, 2.7—3.1 mph

Black & Silver thunder stick

Mixed veg yeck

Pink Kaboom

Billy Kaboom

Rainbow Bomber
