Monday 1-3’ chop, rain, overcast

Flea-O-Meter 2

Before we even left the dock this crew made it clear to me that they wanted SALMON.  They had talked to a crew from another boat that had limited on Brown Trout, but these guys are highly trained King Killing Machines from Allentown, PA and they didn’t want tuggers they wanted screamers!!!

I knew that we would have to go offshore to find what we needed.  So we pointed North and throttled up crashing 12 miles into two foot seas to the 32 N line and 580 fow.  I set the first rod with a pink vampire at 26’ and it went almost immediately with a 16 pound king we continued NW as we put the other 5 rods in.  The next rod to fire was the port dipsy out 110’ with the WMD (Yellow echip/green crinkle).  We landed that fish — it was BIG and pulled my scale to 26+ pounds.  We began a circle and the catching continued this time it was a 24 pounder on the Raspberry Dolphin down 45’.  After several circles we only needed 2 more fish for out 4 man limit, but then we went 1 for 9 between 9:30 and 12:30.  Finally we boated our last two fish on Moonshine Do-De-K’s and called it a day.  We weighed the fish into the derby and they currently are in 1st and 2nd place.  Counting the fish we threw back the crew landed 15 out of many many fish!!
