August 10

Friday partly cloudy, warm, calm

Fished today with Salmo Charters regular Paul Lange and Pro Bass Angler Kirk Armstrong from Corinth, TX.  The weather was perfect and we began the day looking for Brown Trout in 40 fow.  We landed a skipper early and missed 3 other hits before deciding to head out to the middle of the lake and try for Steelhead and Kings.

We set up at the 31N line and it was not long before we began to mark bait and fish then the rods began firing!!  The dipsys were hot with the WMD  and Moonshine yellow fly.  The riggers also kept Paul and Kirk busy.  It was not long before we found a big king to hit and after the fight, Kirk exclaimed that  he certainly understood why they are called KING!!!

Later in the morning we got into a nice group of COHO that could not resist the MOONSHINE Super-seedless at 51’.  Action was pretty steady all day and when all was said and done the guys landed 13 fish — 7 were released.
