August 17

Friday, sunny, cool, WNW wind, 3-4’ waves

Spent several minutes looking at the waves crash in before deciding to head on out into the rough seas.

Began the day in 140 fow just to the west of the port, the temp was down around 80’.  Trolled to the east and worked into 100 fow.  Decent bait picture from 120—100fow.  Worked that area.  Headed north and hit a fish on the 400’ copper but missed it put it back out turned to go south and hit another on the 400’ copper, the fish hit hard, ran strong, but snapped the leader.

Finally we hit a brown and a steelhead on the 70’ rigger finishing the day at 2 for 4.
