Wednesday evening — flat calm partly sunny, warm
Ran north to 120 fow and began a north troll, reached the 250 fow area and hit a nice bow so we began a circle. We hit another fish on the circle, marked some bait and continued to circle and hit fish. Ended up landing 4 of 7. The action was all on the MOONSHINE TNT standards on the riggers 45’ down and mag on the 300’ copper.
THURSDAY— calm lake, partly sunny, warm Flea-o-meter 4
Came out of the breakwall and set up in 45 fow hit a fish on the 300’ copper before I got the second downrigger out. We began a circle just off the east end of the wall from 45 to 60 fow. Made 4 circles and boated 4 mature kings. Things slowed down from 8:30 to 10:30 then the MOONSHINE Purple nurple fired up on the 200 copper and the 58’ rigger (mag). We landed 4 matures and a brown on the Purple Nurple in the next 2 hours plus a couple on a glow frog and one on a dolphin. We ended the day with 10 mature Kings and 2 browns—one a real dandy.
FRIDAY Calm overcast, thunderstorms after 12pm. Flea-o-meter 1
Since we did so well on Thursday –never going over 80 fow we decided to stay right in close again. The guys said they would rather catch browns than rainbows so we stayed right close to the area where 55 degree water met the bottom. The day began with a couple of kings hitting the dipsys in the morning then the browns began hitting. The best bait was a f3 Black & Silver Evil Eye on a 110 diver the stinger frogs and gold glow spoons also took a couple of fish. A thunderstorm blew us off the lake around noon but not before we boated a king and 5 browns. Best area was around 40 fow and best depth was 22’ down. |
