July 14pm
Saturday evening — Rain, West wind with waves 2– 4’
Left the dock at 4:30 pm. Headed west into the wind and slowly made our way out to where we had fished the morning. Set everything that was working back into the water and tried to troll into the waves. After about half an hour we decided that the into the waves troll would not work so we turned the boat and trolled to the east.
We trolled about a half mile when the 550’ copper began to throb. This fish was not too big, I made the comment that every other time someone was reeling in a fish on the copper we doubled up. No sooner had I said it and the blue whale parked at 83’ was eaten by a 15 pound king and once again we had our double. A little while later a nice fish hit the WMD behind a dipsy and another bit the black revelator down 110’ and we were into another double. This time the fish were heavy weighing 19 and 21 pounds.
We boated three more smaller kings and called it a night 7 for 8 in just under three hours of fishing in the wind and rain. The day finished just like it started fish biting and reels screaming. Both trips for the day were limit trips!
