Sunny, warm, west wind with waves building to 1’-2’

Set up our lines in 40 fow just east of port and began a slow north troll to the waypoint from Wednesday. (Spent all day in 70—125 fow) We were just about there when the sliver glow frog 44’ down was eaten by a nice king after a long drawn out battle and several slack line incidences we netted the fish and we were happy.  Fish in the boat.

The next 2 hours slowed way down.  We missed a fish on the 200’ copper then a rigger popped and bobbed and we missed it too. We made some changes to the dipsys replacing spoons with flashers and soon we had another big king in the boat that couldn’t resist the WMD on the 150’ dipsy.  The next 2 big kings ate the MOONSHINE Purple Nurple on the 200’ copper and by 10 am we had made it through the rotation only once but with 4 big king salmon.

We put out a couple more flashers, a glow/green spin Dr with pickled sunshine fly both on the dipsy and on the deep rigger (73’).  The dipsys began to light up with a hit about every 20 min or so, but the riggers went dead.  I pulled the starboard rigger and put stealth rig on - small dipsy 30’ back, down on the rigger.  This set up proved to get the riggers working again as we took a quick three fish on it.

We ended the day 10 for 19 with a very nice catch of kings and steelheads.  The weight of the fillets was over 50 pounds.
