July 10 pm & 11am
Tuesday evening — Sunny, warm, East wind with waves < 2’
Left the dock just before 4 pm. Set in at 100 fow just east of port. Before we got the 5th rod in the water the rod on the center rigger set at 75’ dove toward the water. Jacob handled the fish well and soon the net slipped around the big king. We then trolled for over an hour without another hit.
Finally as Autumn was reeling the copper line in for me she exclaimed, “This is hooked on something!”. A fish had hit it while she was reeling and I replied, “yeah, it’s hooked on a fish!”
As the sun began to descend toward the horizon, the rods began popping. We had multiple hits on the pole cat at 67’ the frog at 58’ and the WMD out 220. We ended up 4 for 9.
Wednesday morning — overcast, strong south wind
Started in the same area as we fished the evening before the frog fired and missed early. We circled back into 90 fow and it fired again, but still no fish in the boat. Finally the TNT MOONSHINE took a large salmon and our luck began to turn around. We ended up landing 5 of 13 fish three of which were in the 20# range. We cut the fishing off early due to a little storm that blew thru!! See storm below!!
