4pm, 1 foot chop out of the North East, surface temp 58.
Headed north to 70 fow set the lines and began a westbound troll. We had not fished Lake Ontario for almost 2 weeks, but local fishing reports said that fish were in the 100 fow area.
We set out our normal 6 rod set, made it west to about the pump house and turned north. We had not gone far when the thumper rod began to screech, a few minutes later Melissa landed a nice COHO. Everything went dead for the next hour and a half. We made several lure changes, then finally the deep rigger popped at 105’ with a medium size king.
We began to circle the area and the fish began to bite as is common in the last hour of the evening. The dipsy with the WMD set at 250’ took a couple as did the same lure down 75’ on the rigger. Ended the evening 5 for 6 with a nice batch of salmon.
