July 25

Nasty S/W wind 15-25 mph, but the inshore water was fishable so we began to fish it.  The 60 fow area to the west did not have any bait in it so we moved out to 110 fow and began to troll with the waves.

The first fish hit the WMD on the 300’ copper.  The fish peeled off 600’ of line in an instant.  Our reaction was to turn the boat and chase the fish.  On the way around the turn the outboard dipsy began singing with another king.  We maneuvered the boat and battled both fish.  The dipsy fish came to the boat first, a nice 15# fish then we slipped the net around a JUMBO 29 pound king (that was the weight on my calibrated scale—most fishermen would call this at least a 33# fish!!)

We continued East to the glass house and took a couple more kings, the turned back to the West and took a couple more.  We ended the day 6 for 10 with several big kings including the 29 pounder and later a 26 pound king.
